SB 127-FN - FISCAL NOTE
AN ACT relative to search and rescue operations conducted by the fish and game department.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The Fish and Game Department states this bill will decrease state fish and game fund expenditures by $64,500 in FY 2008 and each year thereafter. There is no fiscal impact on state, county, and local revenue and county and local expenditures.
METHODOLOGY:
The Department states that this bill limits the search and rescue operations requirements of the Fish and Game Department to exclude National Forest lands except where the cost is otherwise funded or reimbursed to the state. The Department determined the decrease in expenditures from the Fish and Game Fund search and rescue account using the average fiscal year cost for missions on White Mountain National Forest land from FY 2002 through FY 2006. The Department also assumes that searches on White Mountain National Forest land would only be conducted if a formal agreement were in place with the Federal Government for reimbursement of costs. The Department states the decrease in expenditures will begin in FY 2008.
