HB 733 FISCAL NOTE

AN ACT relative to drivers' license fees for national guard members.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The Department of Safety has determined this bill, as amended by the Senate (Senate Amendment #2003-1981s), will reduce state highway fund revenue and increase state highway fund expenditures by an indeterminable amount in FY 2004 and each year thereafter. There will be no fiscal impact on county and local revenue or expenditures.

METHODOLOGY:

The Department stated this bill intends to entitle a member of the national guard called to active service to renew a driver license at ½ the cost. The Department cannot estimate the fiscal impact because they are unable to estimate the number of individuals that would be covered by the exemption, although the Department believes it would be minimal. The Department also states that additional costs would be incurred due to the need for additional forms and computer programming.
