STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Three
AN ACT relative to nonbinding municipal referendums.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 New Section; Nonbinding Referendums Prohibited. Amend RSA 31 by inserting after section 131 the following new section:
31:132 Nonbinding Referendums Prohibited. Municipal referendums which have nonbinding results are prohibited. This section shall notwithstand any existing state, county, or local zoning law or ordinance.
2 New Section; Nonbinding Referendums Prohibited. Amend RSA 44 by inserting after section 20 the following new section:
44:21 Nonbinding Referendums Prohibited. Municipal referendums which have nonbinding results are prohibited. This section shall notwithstand any existing state, county, or local zoning law or ordinance.
3 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
