SB 332 FISCAL NOTE
AN ACT relative to the payment of medical benefits costs for certain group II permanent firemen members injured or killed in the performance of duty.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The New Hampshire Retirement System states this bill, as amended by the Senate, (Senate Amendment #2002-2375s) will have no fiscal impact on state, county, and local revenue or expenditures.
The New Hampshire Retirement System's Special Account will decrease by $193,000 in FY 2003.
METHODOLOGY:
The New Hampshire Retirement System states this bill will provide the post-retirement medical insurance subsidy to dependent children, up to age 18 (age 25 if attending school on a full-time basis), of retired Group II Firemen members on accidental disability retirement who are eligible under RSA 100-A:52. In addition, this bill extends the post-retirement medical insurance subsidy for dependent children of deceased Group II firemen members who died in active service to age 25 years of age if attending school on a full-time basis. The cost to terminally fund these benefits as of June 30, 2002 would be $193,000 for Firemen.
The Special Account balance for Firemen as of June 30, 2001 was $62,200,000.
The Actuary's letter is on file in the bill jacket in the Senate Clerk's Office.
