HB 1355 FISCAL NOTE

AN ACT relative to merging unincorporated places with abutting municipalities in Coos county.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The Association of Counties states this bill will increase county expenditures by an indeterminable amount in FY 2002 and each year thereafter. There will be no fiscal impact on state, county, and local revenue or state and local expenditures.

METHODOLOGY:

The Association states this legislation requires that a North County Municipal Expansion Board be created which will include an estimated 20 to 30 members, three of whom will be Coos County Commissioners. Responsibility for expenditures for administrative support of the committee, mileage and related issues are not specified in this legislation. Other county expenses would be limited to mileage reimbursement for County Commissioners who serve on the Board. While this legislation requires the Board to develop a plan to annex unincorporated areas, future legislation would be required to undertake the annexation.
