STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand One
AN ACT establishing an abortion waiting period.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 New Section; Waiting Period Required; Abortions. Amend RSA 132 by inserting after section 10-d the following new section:
132:10-e Abortions; Waiting Period Required. Any woman requesting an abortion shall be required to wait 72 hours after the initial consultation with her health care practitioner before such abortion shall be performed. This section shall not apply if, in the opinion of the health care practitioner, the health of the mother is endangered.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
