HB 1173 - AS INTRODUCED
2001 SESSION
05/09
HOUSE BILL 1173
COMMITTEE: Children and Family Law
This bill requires an unwed mother to name anyone who may be the father on a form to be filed with the child's birth certificate. The mother must then notify anyone on the form of her assertion that he may be the father of her child. Failure to notify the putative father in this manner prevents the mother from filing a subsequent petition to establish paternity.
