SB 180-FN-A - FISCAL NOTE
AN ACT establishing the Hooksett district court as a full-time court and making an appropriation therefor.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The Administrative Office of the Courts states this bill will increase state expenditures by $48,995 in FY 2002 and each year thereafter. There will be no fiscal impact on state, county, and local revenue or county and local expenditures.
This bill appropriates $50,600 in FY 2002 and FY 2003 to the judicial branch from the state general fund for the purposes of this act.
METHODOLOGY:
The Office states this bill would establish the Hooksett District Court as a full-time Court with a full-time Judge. This bill appropriates $50,600 from the state general fund for salary and benefits of the full-time judge. The current part-time salary of the Hooksett judge is $57,256 with benefits at 15% equaling $8,588, while the full-time salary will be $99,861 with benefits at 15% equaling $14,979. This will increase state expenditures by $48,995 in FY 2002 and each year thereafter. The Office states the judge will sit at other locations in addition to Hooksett, and the need for judicial time is such that there is no reduction in per diem judges as a result.
