SB 96-FN - FISCAL NOTE
AN ACT repealing the requirements for resident and nonresident licenses to carry concealed weapons.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The Department of Safety has determined this bill will decrease state general fund revenue by $28,000 in FY 2002 and by $59,000 each year thereafter. The reduction in local revenue in FY 2002 and each year thereafter is indeterminable. There will be no fiscal impact on county revenue or state, county and local expenditures.
METHODOLOGY:
The Department stated the repeal of the statutes that relate to licenses to carry a loaded pistol or revolver would eliminate state fees for out-of-state and local fees for in-state residents. Annual state revenue based on an average of the last five years is $59,000. The Department has no data on licenses issued by local police departments, therefor, they cannot estimate the loss of revenues to local governments.
