HB 1473-FN - FISCAL NOTE
AN ACT relative to the payment of certain costs to contract service providers or vendors for pending claims by the department of health and human services.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The Department of Health and Human Services indicates that this bill will increase state general fund expenditures by an indeterminable amount in FY 2001 and each year thereafter. There will be no impact on county and local expenditures or on state, county and local revenues.
METHODOLOGY:
The Department states that interest charges are usually not reimbursable from federal programs and the additional cost of this bill would be a general fund expenditure. The Department indicated it currently pays substantially all correctly submitted claims within 30 days except in cases where there is an insufficient appropriation. The Department is not able to accurately determine the additional costs.
