AN ACT relative to the dissolution of the Pawtuckaway cooperative high school district.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
13:1 Purpose. The purpose of this act is to permit the pre-existing districts of Nottingham and Deerfield to withdraw from and dissolve the Pawtuckaway cooperative high school district. The Nottingham and Deerfield school districts formed the Pawtuckaway cooperative school district on March 20, 1999, and on April 19, 1999, the state board of education certified that Pawtuckaway cooperative school district of Nottingham and Deerfield is a lawfully formed cooperative high school district. On September 18, 1999 at the Pawtuckaway cooperative high school district organizational meeting, the voters approved a non-binding article to dissolve the Pawtuckaway cooperative high school district.
13:2 Dissolution of Pawtuckaway Cooperative High School District. Notwithstanding the provisions of RSA 195:25 through RSA 195:30, the Nottingham and Deerfield school districts may vote at the annual school district meeting in 2000 to consider the withdrawal from and dissolution of the Pawtuckaway cooperative school district. At such meeting, voting shall be by ballot with the use of the checklist. If a majority of the legal voters of Nottingham or Deerfield present and voting at such meeting shall vote to withdraw from and dissolve the cooperative school district, the withdrawal and dissolution shall take effect immediately. The authority herein granted shall supersede any inconsistent provisions in the articles of agreement of such plan. The withdrawal from the cooperative school district shall be pursuant to this act.
13:3 Effective Date. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
