1380-FN - FISCAL NOTE
AN ACT relative to compensation for time lost by state law enforcement officers injured in the line of duty.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The Departments of Safety and Fish and Game stated this bill may reduce state expenditures by an indeterminable amount in FY 2001 and each year thereafter. There will be no fiscal impact on county and local expenditures or state, county and local revenue.
METHODOLOGY:
The Departments stated this bill would limit the types of injuries by state police employees and fish and game law enforcement personnel for which they would not be charged for either sick or annual leave for out-of-work time do to injuries caused by hostile or overt acts. The Departments cannot estimate how many injuries would be caused by hostile or overt acts, therefor, the Departments cannot determine the potential cost savings associated with not having to restore employees leave if their injuries are not caused by hostile or overt acts.
