Committee Function:It shall be the duty of the Committee on Public Works and Highways to consider all matters pertaining to the development and repair of public highways; the Highway Fund; the Turnpike Fund; buildings and capital construction; the capital budget; matters pertaining to state bonding authority; capital expenditures related to the improvement and preservation of the coastline; the care of state memorials and monuments; and such other matters as may be referred to it.
Personal Biography
Barry Faulkner is serving his fifth term in the House, representing the people of Swanzey and
Richmond, and is proud to be the fifth generation of Faulkners to represent Cheshire County
communities in the New Hampshire House.
Barry grew up in Keene, and he and his wife Carol (also a
Keene native) settled in Swanzey when they returned to the Keene area in 2005.
He went to Keene
schools and Phillips Exeter Academy, and has a bachelor’s degree in American government and a
master’s degree in city planning, both from Harvard, and a JD from Suffolk University Law School.
He
served from 1971 to 1977 in the U.S. Army Reserve, leaving with the rank of Sergeant.
He now
practices law in Keene as part of BCM Environmental & Land Law, PLLC. Prior to this, he had a 30-
year career managing transportation planning projects and environmental analyses in Boston and New
York and metropolitan areas across the country.
He has been married to the former Carol Orgaz of Keene for 53 years, and they have two grown
children and five grandsons living in the Boston area.
