Committee Function:It shall be the duty of the Committee on Science, Technology and Energy to consider all matters pertaining to energy, telecommunications, air pollution, the jurisdiction of the Public Utilities Commission, the application of technological advances to the legislative process and the operation of state government, to coordinate the flow of information about technical and scientific matters to state and federal agencies and legislative committees, to monitor legislation referred to other committees in order to make suggestions for inclusion of technological improvements where warranted, and such other matters as may be referred to it.
Personal Biography
Passionate about aviation and public service growing up in Minnesota
Volunteering in Civil Air Patrol and obtaining a Pilot's license from the FAA in 1975
Graduated from the US Air Force Academy with honors in 1979, serving in fighter jet operations from 1979 to 1993, including deployment to NATO nations for six years, and combat duties in Saudi Arabia during the Gulf War.
Moved to Hudson, New Hampshire after leaving the Air Force in 1993 and worked on major Department of Defense acquisition projects for the MITRE Corporation.
Guided technical, physical, and leadership development of area teenagers and pre-teens for ten years as Commander of Civil Air Patrol's Amitrano Cadet Squadron in Hillsborough County.
Work at MITRE in Virginia evolved to leadership of the Global Navigation Satellite Systems (e.g., GPS) modernization group, guiding multi-million dollar performance improvements.
Moved to Nashua, New Hampshire after retiring in 2022.
Married 45 years, with three grown children and four grandchildren.
