It shall be the duty of the Committee on Environment and Agriculture to consider all matters concerning agricultural and farm problems of the state, physical land use including current use, the various agricultural organizations, the protection of the state's environment from forms of pollution other than air or water pollution, waste management issues, and such other matters as may be referred to it.

Personal Biography
In 1978 I moved to Alstead, NH drawn to the strong sense of community and quality of life. My wife and I have two grown children and live on a homestead with vegetable gardens, a sugar house, and a small vineyard. My career has focused on empowering communities in sustainable development. This included working in local government management, developing passive-solar technology, consulting with local NH government, teaching and Chairing the Department of Environmental Studies at Antioch University in Keene, and working with four Eastern European nations on environmental policy and democracy recovery.

Academic background:
Civil Engineering (and licensed in Civil Engineer in NH): San Diego State University Science: Massachusetts Institute of Technology Public Administration: Harvard Kennedy School of Government; PhD Environmental Conservation: University of Zagreb.
Local Government Involvement
Assistant/Acting Town Manager in Hartford, VT
Assistant City Manager in Lebanon, NH
Founder and Director of NH Selectperson's Institute that trained NH local government leaders
Initiated the City of Keene Bike & Pathways system
Developed local solid waste and recycling facilities and programs in NH and VT
Assisted Claremont Region in replacing waste incinerator with integrated waste management system
Assisted towns in the Sunapee region to develop a local climate change action plan
Facilitated local community participatory planning sessions in Keene and Monadnock region
Served on Lake Sunapee Regional Planning Commission, Lebanon
Assisted 26 NH cities and towns in the I-93 corridor in developing a 5 year, $3.5 m, work plan to management future growth due to the expansion of I-93

I am dedicated to help ensure that the next generation can live in a New Hampshire that is economically healthy, environmentally sustainable, supportive of individual rights, and remains grounded in strong democratic traditions. I will advocate for and work with others on legislation that recognizes and addresses real problems and builds a better future for all.
