Committee Function:It shall be the duty of the Committee on Children and Family Law to consider matters relating to children and youth, their rights, obligations, and protection, including all matters covered by RSA 169-B, 169-C, and 169-D, divorce, custody and child support; the application of criminal laws and sentencing to children and such other matters as may be referred to it.
Personal Biography
Mary N. Georges is an American Citizen, mother of four children and 2 grandsons, she was born and raised in the Democratic Republic of Congo where she urged her first degree in nursing and worked as a nurse at the Medical Sport Center of Kinshasa,
she came to the US in 1990, and because of the language barrier, she worked very hard in dry cleaners to earn her living and became the owner of the cleaning business.
Her dedication and desire to help her community lead her to obtain a bachelors degree in Human Services and a masters in organizational management and Leadership from Springfield College MA. She founded Victory Women of Vision (VWV) in 2003 and has been its inspiration and backbone since that time.
In addition to her work with VWV She is an activist, the founder and past president of the Congolese Community of New Hampshire as well as the Executive director of Women and Youth Services for the Congolese Commission of the US.
Local Government Involvement
In 2015 she was elected selectwoman for Manchester Ward 3, past member of the Manchester School Board 2015_2019, where she supported local families and contributed to the city's educational initiatives.
Miscellaneous Information:
Mary has extensive experience in advocacy for womens' and childrens' rights and strengthening families, particularly in the African community. She always speaks on violence against women and advocates for a fair education for the minority children living in the USA for a better future and opportunity. She is a motivational speaker who loves to encourage and empower the immigrant and refugee community to have a successful life in America and equal right for all. In 2019 she was awarded by the Pastoral Council Services as a good Samaritan for outstanding in her community.
