Committee Function:It shall be the duty of the Committee on Science, Technology and Energy to consider all matters pertaining to energy, telecommunications, air pollution, the jurisdiction of the Public Utilities Commission, the application of technological advances to the legislative process and the operation of state government, to coordinate the flow of information about technical and scientific matters to state and federal agencies and legislative committees, to monitor legislation referred to other committees in order to make suggestions for inclusion of technological improvements where warranted, and such other matters as may be referred to it.
Personal Biography
Kat McGhee is a retired Project Management Professional with an M.Ed in Psychology from Cambridge College.
After a successful career in technology training, enterprise-wide program management, and software program management, Kat decided she wanted to pursue public service. Her paid and volunteer leadership roles in technology education and business, which included running international teams and guiding complex technical software projects to fruition, makes her a valuable member of the House Science, Technology and Energy Committee.
Local Government Involvement
Rep. McGhee has held many volunteer roles in her community.
She chaired Hollis Old Home Days for 2 years and was on the board for 6 years, served as Ways and Means Chair for the Hollis Woman's Club, and was appointed Chair of the NED Pipeline Task Force by the Hollis Board of Selectmen.
She was the Hollis delegate to the Nashua Regional Planning Commission's Energy Facility Advisory Committee.
Kat is a current, long-standing member of the Hollis Zoning Board of Adjustments.
Miscellaneous Information:
Along with her husband Dr. John McGhee, they have 4 grown children, 9 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild.
Avocations include making time for family, friends, art, travel, cooking, and reading.
