Committee Name: Environment and AgriculturePosition: Chair
Committee Function:It shall be the duty of the Committee on Environment and Agriculture to consider all matters concerning agricultural and farm problems of the state, physical land use including current use, the various agricultural organizations, the protection of the state's environment from forms of pollution other than air or water pollution, waste management issues, and such other matters as may be referred to it.
Personal Biography
Judy Aron earned her Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Magna Cum Laude, with minors in
Business Administration and Computer Science from the State University of New York at New
Paltz.
She is Secretary of the Acworth Community Project, which operates the Acworth Village Store.
Judy writes two columns for the monthly Acworth Newsletter. Judy is currently President of the
Acworth Woman’s Club and volunteers for the Acworth Memorial Park project, which seeks to
honor Acworth resident veterans past and present since 1766.
Judy is also a board member of the Discover Sugar River Region, a non-profit 501-c3
Destination Management Organization (DMO). The mission of DSSR is to develop, promote,
and sustain our regional assets to create a thriving visitor economy and improve quality of life for
all who live and work here.
Local Government Involvement
Judy is serving her fourth term on the Acworth Budget Committee (since March 2014).
While a NH State Representative and as part of the Sullivan County delegation, Judy
served as Chair of the Executive Finance Committee in her third term (2022-2024) for
Sullivan County. She also serves on the Nursing Home Trust Fund Committee for
Sullivan County Health Care. Rep. Aron was selected unanimously by the New
Hampshire Association of Counties (NHAC) board to be their 2022 Legislator of the Year.
Miscellaneous Information:
Judy enjoys gardening and creating delicious food in her kitchen. She lives in Acworth with her husband, Michael; their dog, Sophie;
their two cats, Smidge and Smudge; and a flock of chickens.
