It shall be the duty of the Committee on Transportation to consider all matters pertaining to development, operation and regulation of all means of air, land and water transportation, except for the capital improvement and repair of public highways; the motor vehicle code; and such other matters as may be referred to it.

Personal Biography
George has lived in Lebanon, NH along with his wife, Jayne Buckley for more than 30 years. He has a daughter, Kate, LHS class of 2000. A retired Deputy Chief, Lebanon Fire Department, and is a recipient of the Aubrey G. Robinson Award for outstanding service to the State of NH in fire prevention.

George volunteers with the American Red Cross, Disaster Services. As a responder, he has deployed to NH, NY, PA, MA, VT, FL, Haiti for nearly two years after the 2010 earthquake, and Puerto Rico in 2017. He is a longtime supporter and now Board Member of AVA, the Advanced Alliance for the Visual Arts.

Re-elected to his seventh term, NH State Representative, Sykes is a Member of the Transportation Committee and currently serves as Chair of the Grafton County Delegation.

Representative Sykes holds a BA, Bridgewater State College ’74, BS, Business and Economics, Empire State College ’88, and an MBA, Southern New Hampshire University ’99.
Local Government Involvement
Representative Sykes currently serves as a City Councilor for Ward 2 in Lebanon. As part of those duties he also serves on the Lebanon Downtown TIF District Advisory Board, and an alternate member of the Lebanon Ped/Bike Committee and the Lebanon Conservation Commission. City Councilor Sykes is Chair of the Regional Transportation Advisory Council.
