Speed is a major factor in traffic fatalities and injuries. Automobile speed impacts all road users: drivers, pedestrians, and bicyclists. Some local roads are simply not designed for a 25 mph speed limit due to merging traffic, narrow lanes, poor visibility, and the presence of pedestrians and bicyclists. Please allow municipalities to set a lower speed limit where it is warranted. It will save lives!
