Living in Berlin has become a "nightmare". As a senior citizen I face rising taxes to support schools (which has an abhorrent report card), the city is unable to repair existing roads, address housing situations(the homeless roam the streets) and I am becoming ashamed of living here. What is needed at the state level is open, honesty discussion about resolving the issues the state sees, how to attract business, how to support local communities. The state representatives should be advocating for the communities, not working against it.
