Kevin Criscione

Esteemed members of the committee, Before settling in Goffstown last year, my partner and I lived on the west side of Manchester for many years. Sometimes people would ask us about crime, and my response was always: violent crime is not really the danger for most people, it's the speeding cars that will kill you. This was true for me during several close calls while driving around Manchester and its surrounding highways, and particularly true when I walked or biked around town. It's also borne out by state data: in 2024, the state of New Hampshire had 14 documented murders and 135 traffic fatalities. Please support this legislation, as it allows communities to decide for themselves how to prevent reckless speeding. There are many streets (such as downtown areas and side roads adjacent to school or parks) that ought to have a speed limit lower than 25 MPH. Thank you, Kevin Criscione
