New Hampshire needs to get serious about safety on our streets. Seniors in village centers feel unsafe getting their mail. Students are not allowed to walk to school. People are getting hit and killed on Main Streets. This is not the life people in New Hampshire deserve or expect. Towns and cities need the option of creating safer environments where it is necessary. This is a simple measure for basic mobility that will impact very few streets where people need basic protections to move around freely and safer. By not following federal guidance, New Hampshire is crippling our towns and cities as unresponsive to the needs of our residents. Please take street safety seriously. The carnage on our streets is unacceptable, and so is the lack of comfort and basic safety afforded to people so that they can meet their everyday needs.
