Caleb McGill | Oppose SB430

To the members of the House Education Policy Committee, thank you for reading my testimony, my name is Caleb McGill and as a resident of Bow I oppose SB430. I oppose this bill because it will harm students who are already vulnerable to bullying and harassment by requiring educators to provide information that a student may be keeping to themselves for their own safety. This puts students in danger as well as violates their privacy. This bill does not allow for the scope of possible situations and reasoning for a student to not want something told to their parents and would punish educators who deem that to best help a child some information could be withheld. This disclosing of a student's personal information would harm their relationship with their teachers as well as their parents. For these reasons I strongly oppose bill SB459. Thank you, Caleb McGill
