Just like HB 323 WHICH WAS ITL IN NOVEMBER, SB223 would also ban student IDs for voting purposes if passed. The Senate Election Law Committee gave this bill a recommendation of Inexpedient to Legislate back in November—and many of you even sent thank you emails! However, in January, that recommendation was set aside after Chairman Gray was asked to vote it down so an amendment could be made (removing the provision related to granting in-state tuition to students registered to vote in NH). This is another attempt at voter suppression in NH.
