As a taxpayer and educator from Claremont, New Hampshire, I vehemently oppose the concept of open enrollment in the state of New Hampshire. All this will do is benefit property rich communities and continue to dismantle services for property poor communities like Claremont. In Claremont, we are currently in a property tax crisis. As the NH Supreme Court has said repeatedly, the State of NH DOES NOT adequately fund public education. This will only make an education system that is already the most inequitable in the country, even equitable. If you care about public education, if you care about rising property taxes, oppose open enrollment in New Hampshire.
