Please OPPOSE HB 1337. As someone who served on the Quality Council for over a decade and who Chaired it for 7 years, the Quality Council is no replacement for the Autism Council. The Quality Council concerns itself with issues within the Developmental Disabilities system. Some of those served have an Autism diagnosis. But there are a vast number of people with an Autism diagnosis who are NOT part of the DD system. The Autism Council concerns itself with ALL people who experience Autism where the Quality Council does not. The two Councils have very different charges and one is no substitute for the other. Please vote NO on bill HB1337.
