HB 1456 repeals a prior statement that broadly asserted the Legislature’s authority over public education. The New Hampshire Constitution already clearly defines the state’s responsibility to provide an adequate education. We do not need additional sweeping language that could be interpreted as expanding legislative control beyond that constitutional duty. This bill does not cut funding or change school operations. It simply removes unnecessary language and keeps our education governance grounded in the Constitution. For those reasons, I support HB 1456.
