Charter Schools have not proven themselves to be better than our traditional district schools. Some cite the decline in math and reading test scores in our district schools, but they have not examined the scores of students in Charter Schools. They are on average, roughly equivalent. One might expect the Charter Schools to dominate the top 10 but they're often not found there. Some parents opt out of the state assessment test and their children neither raise nor lower the school's test results.
