HB1804. This bill, sponsored by Dan McGuire, Osborne, and others, would create a partisan committee to study elimination of our current SAU system and replace it with a single county-wide equivalent of our SAU. The head of the new unit, now to be called a “chief school administrator”, would be elected, i.e., be a politician rather than a professional educator like our school superintendents. For us, that would mean the Epsom school system would be overseen by a politician elected by all voters of Merrimack County, not only by voters of Epsom, Allenstown, Chichester, and Pembroke. Dan McGuire, Jason, Osborn and "others" (Free Staters) wanting to create a partisan committee to study elimination of our current SAU system, replace with a single county-wide equivalent headed by a "chief school administrator" (elected) is a political move advancing a politician in charge of educating children. Parents are interested in the administrators with education credentials, teachers with teaching credentials, developing curriculum, teaching children rather than politicians running for election within the school system. THE WORLD DOESN'T NEED POLITICIANS IN THE SCHOOL SYSTEM.
