I am writing in opposition to Bill HB1529 which seeks to repeal the Reading Recovery program. As a school interventionist, I've seen the impact Reading Recovery has on our students who struggle with early reading skills. Reading Recovery is an important component of providing these students with the additional systematic, direct instruction they need in order to become proficient readers.
