I strongly oppose HB1565 relative to the false reports of suspected abuse and neglect made to the division for children, youth and families. This bill will cause a chilling effect on reporting child abuse. In addition, should the abuser in a shared parenting arrangement with the father being the abuser, this bill would be more likely to have an adverse effect on women. I strongly oppose this bill.
