This proposal is a direct step toward dismantling traditional public schools under the guise of “study.” Our communities deserve strong, fully funded public schools governed locally — not a pathway to wholesale charter conversion that shifts oversight and accountability. Instead of experimenting with structural overhauls, lawmakers should focus on adequately funding and supporting the public schools families rely on today.
