The transition from Public schools to charter schools is a serious matter with long term consequences. This bill lowers the threshold for a permanent governance change and shifts some decision-making from deliberative local meetings to election-cycle voting. In addition the scheduling of a hearing during school recess when many members of the legislature are unable to attend is offensive to everyone who truly cares about public education.
