I vehemently oppose this bill. 25% of our population has dyslexia. These students are frequently high IQ but due to neurological differences can't read at the same rate and ability as the other 75% of our population. There are five people in my family with some form of dyslexia. I have an engineering degree and an MBA, and yet I had to go to university to work on a certificate in Dyslexia and language based learning disabilities to be able to assist my students because our school district wasn't able to completely assist my students, and that is WITH this program. WITHOUT this program you are ultimately creating a larger societal problem. Students who can't read statistically drop out of school and end up committing more crimes making our society less safe. You should be supporting additional reading services, not less support. It is unconscionable.
