I strongly oppose House Bill 1792, because it politicizes and restricts the teaching of history, civics, and social issues and would create a chilling effect on educators trying to do their jobs. Instead of undermining public education and narrowing what our children can learn, we should be investing in strong schools that prepare all students for the real world. Why are we shying away from teaching ACTUAL history? If history makes you uncomfortable there's a reason and it's not to shy away from it.
