As a parent, I feel that this should basic rights. There is no good reason a parent shouldn't have access to their child's medical records whether it be print or electronic. Nothing regarding my child should be kept or hidden or restricted. How am I supposed to trust the system if they dont make the information regarding my children easily accessible? Blind trust is not the answer. Ever parent deserves the right to access their child's medical records at any time. What if I need some information in the middle of the night? Even after the office is opened in the morning it can take hours to receive a call back. Thats not acceptable. In today's world, the technology available, there is no reason that I cant access the records electronically just as I do for my own.
