I am writing to express my strong opposition to HB 1804-FN. This bill proposes replacing professional, qualified superintendents with elected administrators serving two-year terms. Running a school district requires expertise in pedagogy and finance, not a political campaign. Shifting to an elected model would lead to the constant politicization of our classrooms and destabilize our students' education. I also object to the scheduling of this hearing during school vacation week, which prevents educators and parents from participating fairly. Please vote ITL on HB 1804-FN to keep politics out of school administration.
