This bill is too extreme for New Hampshire. It pointlessly targets immigrants who have been extensively vetted and come to us after escaping horrific persecution and violence. We need immigrants in this country and in particularly in this state, which has an aging population. We already have shortages in health care and other industries. Refugee resettlement is an investiment in New Hampshire's future. If you deal in statistics, by the numbers, refugees have lower crime rates than citizens and contribute way more taxes than they initially cost the state in resettlement money. This bill is simple fear and xenophobia and we here in New Hampshire should be better than this. I oppose this bill. You should, too.
