I oppose HB1564. Passing this law would deny scientific research validating that gender is a much more complex genetic, chemical reality than the binary male/female identities we frequently use. (Scientific American, 9/2017, p.50) By focusing on gender identity in this bill, the legislature may be exposing individuals to discrimination and reinforce stereotypes that have long caused harm to mental wellness. Our state motto is Live Free or Die. We want NH citizens right to carry guns to be recognized in statutes, so please support NH citizens’ rights to make decisions about their identities. I strongly oppose HB1564.
