I see no reason to remove the x gender marker from our licenses besides the purely ideological. This solves no existing problem in the state, unless you find "people are allowed to go about their business while not conforming to my expectations" to be a problem. Gender isn't even a useful way to identify a person, so I'm not sure it has any business being on a drivers' license in the first place. But given that it's there, choosing not to include those who do not identify as male or female in our state is just pure bigotry. You can dress it up however you like, but I don't want you wasting my tax money fighting lawsuits where we're clearly in the wrong and clearly discriminating against people on the basis of gender. Reject this, frankly, pointless bill.
