These proposals are deeply troubling. They single out transgender people—especially children and families—for political targeting rather than offering real solutions to the challenges facing our state. This approach is not only harmful, it reflects poorly on our legislature and the values it claims to uphold. Transgender people deserve safety, dignity, and equal protection under the law. Legislation that undermines those principles does not make our communities stronger, safer, or healthier. It creates fear, invites discrimination, and distracts from the real work our elected officials should be doing. I expect better from my state government. I urge you to oppose these bills and to publicly affirm that all constituents, including transgender people, deserve respect and fair treatment.
