Dear Committee Members, I strongly oppose HB 1165. People have already relied on the ability to choose to use X instead of F or M on their driver's license. This allows for privacy if their appearance does not conform to stereotypic gender roles. It also reduces the potential for awkward and potentially dangerous interactions when using their driver's license for identification purposes such as cashing a check or making a purchase.
