Titer testing is already used routinely to determine a dog's level of immunity to various diseases and is used as guidance to both vets and owners as to the necessity of a vaccine or a booster. Adding rabies to that list helps eliminate needless vaccines for our dogs, who already face increasing attacks on their immune system. Equally important is that a titer will actually provide evidence the the rabies vaccine is effective. Right now dog owners just have to have faith that it is, with no real proof. Titers will be the proof.
