Gender identity is a fundamental human sense of identity, developed early through an interaction between biology, psychological development, and surrounding culture. It becomes as much an immutable aspect of a person as ethnicity, sexual identity, or religious identity. Our society has become a very dangerous place for some whose gender identity offends other people. They desperately need the existing protections in NH law, which were hard won just recently and reflect the values of the majority.
