I strongly oppose HB 1564. Removing all references to “gender identity” from New Hampshire statutes isn’t just a technical change — it strips critical protections from some of our most vulnerable residents and sends a message that discrimination against transgender and gender-diverse people is acceptable. This bill would weaken civil rights laws, erase recognition of lived identities, and make it harder for people to seek justice when they face bias or harassment. Instead of expanding inclusion and equal protection under the law, HB 1564 narrows it. New Hampshire should be moving forward, not rolling back hard-won rights.
