I have 2, 8 pound chihuahuas who are inside 95% of the time. If they are outside, it is for 2 minutes to go pee in our backyard and they are leashed in our fenced in yard with us present. When they are vaccinated for rabies they react terribly because they are so small. Crying, lethargy, no appetite for days. Please understand they are receiving the same dose of the rabies vaccine that a German Shepherd would get. I am required by law to keep putting my small animals through this and it is terrible for them. I would much rather have their titers drawn and not have them injected if they already have immunity. Most vaccines offer lifetime immunity. Why are our animals constantly injected? Thank you.
