House Bill 1488 I sincerely hope this bill passes, because my dog Jack has suffered tremendously from repeated rabies vaccinations. We have spent over $10,000 trying to help him recover from what veterinarians believe is a vaccine-related autoimmune condition. Since receiving repeated rabies shots, Jack developed serious health problems, including autoimmune complications, chronic infections that will not resolve, and noticeable changes in his fur and overall health. Watching him suffer has been heartbreaking, especially knowing these vaccinations were required even when he may have already had immunity. No pet owner should be forced to risk their dog’s health unnecessarily. Titer testing offers a scientifically sound way to confirm immunity without exposing animals to repeated vaccinations that may cause harm. This bill would help protect dogs like Jack while still ensuring public safety.
