This is a clear case of the state looking to avoid its education responsibilities and moving the cost to the towns via property tax. The state owes money to the towns - but instead of doing the responsible thing and fulfilling its obligation under the law, the state is trying to rework the law! It’s like every football team getting to pick its own field size and where the goalposts are. Reject this bill. It’s the right thing to do.
