Samantha Cali

My name is Samantha Cali, and I am a New Hampshire resident. I respectfully oppose House Bill 1675. Members of my family and friends have benefited directly from services provided by our local crisis center. These services provided timely clinical intervention, counseling, and stabilization support during mental health crises. Crisis centers are an essential part of New Hampshire’s behavioral health system and reduce emergency room use, law enforcement involvement, and long-term harm. Survivor services and prevention programs must be protected. Crisis centers provide follow-up care, safety planning, and community education that reduce repeat crises and support recovery. Evidence-based prevention and survivor-centered services are proven to improve outcomes and reduce public costs. Legislators should prioritize protecting victims and survivors. Policies that weaken access to crisis services or shift resources away from trained mental health professionals risk harming vulnerable individuals and communities. For these reasons, I urge the committee to oppose HB 1675 and continue supporting crisis response, survivor services, and prevention efforts. Thank you for your consideration.
